2011 Photographers

Jessica James:  A native of Washington County, Alabama, Jessica moved to Tuscaloosa in the Fall of 1994.  After earning her bachelor’s degree in communications from The University of Alabama in 1998, she began her career at RadioSouth, Inc. with WTID-FM Tide 101.7 and WLXY Arrow 100.7 FM.

 An experienced writer and media strategist, Jessica moved to New York City in 2000 to work in the public relations industry.  She returned home to Tuscaloosa three years later and accepted a position in public relations with her alma mater.

Fulfilling her lifelong commitment to public service, Jessica ran an effective campaign for Tuscaloosa City Council, District 7, in August 2005.   Polishing her skills and knowledge of the political process and mastering effective strategies for public advocacy, she completed her master’s degree in public administration at the Capstone in 2006.

After her bid for City Council, Jessica began working as the District 8 Team Leader for Governor Riley’s re-election campaign.  In 2007, Jessica accepted a position as Neighborhood/Historic Planner with the City of Tuscaloosa’s Department of Planning and Economic Development.  She accepted her second appointment from Governor Riley’s administration in July 2008 and moved to Mobile from Tuscaloosa to work for the Governor’s Office through the department of ADECA as the Coordinator of the U.S. Highway 43 Wastewater Initiative.  Since July 2010, Jessica has served as the Mobile County Commission’s Liaison in the BP/MC252 Oil Spill clean-up efforts, as well as contracted for Bishop State Community College in their workforce development department.

Having recently moved from Tuscaloosa to Mobile, Jessica is already very active in the community.  She sits on several boards, including South Alabama CARES, where she serves as Vice-Chair, the United Way of Southwest Alabama’s Young Leaders Society, and is the current treasurer of the Mobile Chapter of The University of Alabama National Alumni Association.   She is an active with the Junior League of Mobile, where she serves as the 2011 Blue Pass Sales Chair.  Jessica is also an active member of both the Alabama Republican Party Executive Committee and the Mobile County Republican Executive Committee.  She is a member Trinity Episcopal Church.

 

Tiffany Collins, a native of Port Arthur, Texas, was  born on July 4, 1983.  There she was raised by her mother and father.  During Tiffany’s eleventh grade year of high school she enrolled in the Health Occupation Program.

 While taking that course she became very interactive with the elderly and discovered the great compassion she has to help others in need.  Tiffany graduated from Stephen F. Austin in 2001, after graduation she moved to Mobile Alabama and started a family.

Currently Tiffany serves as the office manager at South Alabama Cares, she continues to reach out and help those in need, not just the elderly but also all ages.

Continuing her education, Tiffany is also a sophomore at Strayer University pursuing her Bachelors of Business.

 



Kevin Green
is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at South Alabama CARES. He is an avid amateur photographer who enjoys traveling to unique and interesting destinations.

 



Hays Holmes
is a photographer living in Mobile. After graduating Law School, he worked for the United Nations and various corporations. He specializes in portraits of children and families, as well as commercial projects, nature and wildlife photography.
