Sirmon–Martin Wins “Look Up Mobile!”
Prize Contest & Auction Raises Over $17,000 for
AIDS Services & Education
Diane Sirmon Martin was the
winner of the cash prize in the 2008 Look Up Mobile! visual
scavenger hunt. The contest, reception and silent auction of
photographs raised over $17,000 to benefit the AIDS/HIV
services and education work of South Alabama CARES. Sirmon-Martin,
upon receiving the check for $2,500, returned the money as a
donation to CARES, stating that she only wanted the agency
to hold another Look Up Mobile! scavenger hunt in 2009
because it was so much fun and for such a worthy cause.
Original photographs by Julia Bacy, Terry Hartley, Michael
Mastro, Keith Necaise, and Marty Sheffield included in
the Look Up Mobile! visual scavenger hunt will be on exhibit
in Mobile Arts Council’s Skinny Gallery through October 3.
Major sponsors for the event include: B-Bobs Downtown, Blue
Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, Bowden Architecture,
